Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church

32500 Palmer Rd.
Westland, MI 48186

We, the family of Ss. Simon and Jude, thank God for the continuing opportunity to carry out our mission of service and outreach to each other and the greater community.

We are the Community of Ss. Simon and Jude. We are family. We make a difference to each other and the greater community.

Family, it’s time to talk debt reduction. But first, going forward, because we are going forward, let us no longer think of it as debt reduction. It’s an investment in our family and faith, and for future generations. It’s our Ss. Simon and Jude Faith Family Community fundraiser. This fundraiser is extremely important to our future.

We understand, you’re worried about your finances and you aren’t the only ones. Jesus is worried about your finances. Want proof? See Genesis 41:33–57, Romans 13:1–14, Proverbs 19:17, Haggai 2:8, to name a few. But the good news is that Jesus also proclaims that we will receive bountifully as we give bountifully. Even better news—if we give bountifully, we continue to grow and prosper as the Community of Ss. Simon and Jude.

Today we reach out to you, our family and faith community, and ask each member to focus on the mission to reduce the debt by investing in our church. We have the same goals: to have a place to gather and worship as a family and community, a place that can be nurtured for our children’s children, and a place that welcomes all people.

Right now we have that foundation – Ss. Simon and Jude Parish. For more than 50 years, Ss. Simon and Jude has faithfully taught and will continue to teach us God’s word, challenging us to be our best selves as God’s children, and fulfilling human needs of food and shelter in the community. Ss. Simon and Jude has never held back.

It’s time for us to do the same.

We are starting a five-year fundraiser that shows our dedication and commitment to the Community of Ss. Simon and Jude. The target is to raise $500,000. We are sharing this responsibility as a family.

Please look around the congregation — this is your future - this is their future - this is OUR future.

Gracious God, thank you for helping us to grow and prosper as the Community of Ss. Simon and Jude. Let the blessings continue!

Faith Family Community Fundraiser Corner

Welcome back! We hope you had a great summer! During these summer months, we put the Faith, Family Community fundraiser on autopilot, and things went smoothly. We wanted to bring to your attention the current numbers and some answers to questions we’ve been asked. Drum roll please…

To date we have:
Pledged:
$48,403

Collected:
$26,423

THANK YOU! This is terrific. We are on the right track!

Now for questions:

Q: Have you heard anything from the AOD?

A: Not yet, and we are banking what we're collecting until we do hear from them.

Q: I turned in my pledge card, but haven’t done anything else. What do I do next?
A: You should have received specially marked FFC envelopes when you turned in your pledge card. If you didn’t, those envelopes are in the pamphlet center when you walk in. Simply place your monthly, semi-monthly, or annual donation in the envelope and place in the basket at Mass or turn into the office. Please make sure to write “FFC” in the memo line if paying by check.

You may also pay online, and schedule payments, via our WeShare donation process. You can find step-by-step instructions on our website.

Q: I haven't had the opportunity to pledge. What do I do?

A: It will never be too late to pledge. This is ongoing for the next five years and we are grateful to accept all pledges throughout this time. There are many ways to pledge:

(1) In the pamphlet center there are Faith Family Community brochures — please feel free to fill out the information inside and drop it in the collection basket or parish office. Feel free to fax or mail it to the parish office.

(2) Go online to http://www.stssimonandjude.com/ourparish/onlinegiving.html. Browse through the website too, we have lots to offer our parish family, community, and visitors.

(3) If you want to talk to one of the organizers of the FFC call the parish office. They will happily put you in touch with one of the team members to help answer your questions.

(4) Pray for the success and generosity of this fundraiser. It is life giving to our family. It is our future.

(5) Always put FFC on any donation that you wish to go toward this fundraiser. It is imperative that we keep this money separated from other collections. The focus of this drive is to pay down our loan from the AOD.

Q: What is the FFCC's next step?

A: To invite the parish to join us in the parish hall on October 12th to celebrate the first complete quarter of our pledge drive. If you haven't pledged yet, this is another excellent opportunity to do so. The FFC team would like to answer any questions you have or get the answers for you. Also see the most updated progress of our parish family's fundraiser drive!

Thank you for your support thus far, and for your continued support!
