You can now start your donation process. There are two options: "Set Up A Recurring Donation" or "Make a One Time Donation."
As you can see, for a Recurring Donation, just enter the dollar amount you'd like to have taken out and how often you'd like it taken out of your account. You can choose: Weekly, Monthly, Semimonthly, Quarterly, or Annually. Then choose which day of the week you'd like the donation to come out on.
Lastly, press, "Start Recurring Donation" and you are all set!
We appreciate you choosing to use our online donation system for your weekly contributions and other donations. We understand, however, that some feel uncomfortable not putting anything in the basket each week. To alleviate this, please feel free to print any of these slips and put it in the basket each week.
FAITH, FAMILY, COMMUNITY - Ongoing Fundraiser for the Community of SS. Simon and Jude Church.
What is the origin of the Faith, Family, Community fundraiser?
In 2014, we launched the Faith, Family Community fundraiser (FFC) to raise money to pay toward our loan from the Archdiocese of Detroit. The money was borrowed to build a new church in 1999, which was added onto the existing building.
The fundraiser was organized by volunteers from our parish in order to eliminate the expense of engaging a professional firm to develop and run the fundraiser. The materials produced for the fundraiser, such as the brochure, pledge cards, and envelopes, were designed by the volunteers. To further help keep this a low-cost fundraiser, we asked people to use any kind of envelope for their contribution just by writing FFC on it.
Our goal was to raise $500,000 over five years. At that time, we had an outstanding debt of more than $2 million.
What is happening with the FFC now?
Continuous payments are being made to the Archdiocese on a monthly basis through pledges, gifts, and our parish clubs and organizations contributing with their separate fundraisers.
Our monthly payments are $3,500. However, some of the money does come out of the weekly collection, which strains the operating expenses of the church.
Can I really make a difference?
Yes! By pledging and honoring those pledges you make a huge contribution to our FFC. Every dollar counts, especially because we are paying on a loan that is NOT accumulating interest.
How do I give to the FFC?
If you have previously pledged, thank you for your support. Please renew that pledge or pledge at your current means. We know that as a member of our parish family, that you give from you heart and are committed to the future of our church. Please continue to do so through online giving, FFC envelopes (provided in the bi-monthly envelopes mailed to your home), or recycle en envelope and write FFC on it.
If you are currently pledging, thank you; we are grateful for your continued support. Please continue to pay through your current method of payment.
If you are new to our parish, please reach out and support our fundraiser. Our parish welcomes all and we are honored that you have chosen us as your spiritual family. Although you are our newest members, we offer the same commitment, experiences, and ministering as we would to a long-standing member of our parish community. To get started, please contact the parish office, Chris Dixon, or Sally Sztrecska. We would be happy to help you!
If you are one of our clubs/fundraiser groups, thank you for your fundraising efforts. Please tell the parish secretary that the proceeds from your fundraiser are for the FFC.
How does my response to the FFC affect my support of weekly contributions and the CSA?
Please keep in mind that the FFC is a separate fundraiser from the weekly giving and the CSA drive. Both the weekly contributions and the CSA are vital to sustaining operating expenses, maintenance and repairs, and much needed projects for the church.
The money collected for the FFC is for our loan repayment. We recognize that this is an additional monetary gift, but we ask that you consider the importance of our mission of outreach and service to each other and to the greater community. We cannot do that without your financial support for our home.
How much is left to pay on our debt and how long do we need to pay it?
$493,778 - Check monthly to see our progress.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and monetary gifts in
support of our parish community. Your kindness and generosity allows
us to continue and expand our good works. Please help us reach our goal and celebrate 75 years as the Community of SS. Simon and Jude.
Have you made your pledge to the Faith Family Community fundraiser but are unsure as to when to start payments and how? Payments are being collected now either by donating online (instructions on our website), or by using the FFC envelopes (located in the pamphlet center) and dropping them in the basket. Please remember that if you write a check, to include “FFC” in the memo line.

Contributions made through the Faith Family Community fundraiser are used to repay the loan to the Archdiocese of Detroit Loan Deposit Program. This will enable the parish to sustain our church and continue our mission of outreach and service to each other and the greater community. All donations are tax deductible as provided by law. Our thanks and gratitude for your generosity.
REMINDER: Please make sure to put your payment in an FFC envelope (located in the vestibule) or in an envelope marked FFC. If paying by check, please mark, "FFC" in the memo line. If you put your contribution in the collection basket without FFC on it, it may get counted as weekly collection.

Dear Parishioners:
We’re pleased to share some exciting news about a new fundraising program for our parish. It’s called “scrip,” and it’s the fundraising program that works while you shop.
Scrip is simply a word that means, “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JCPenney, The Gap, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster, and many, many others.
You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It’s simple – scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our parish keeps the difference as revenue. And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins:
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our parish without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, and even dining out.
For more information about our new scrip program, we encourage you to look through the additional inserts in this weeks bulletin. Information on how to set up an account can also be found in those inserts. We will begin taking orders the weekend of August 24/25 and they will be available for pickup the following weekend (August 31/September 1). You may also begin using the program by purchasing scrip online through your account.
The Ss. Simon and Jude scrip program promises to be a simple and effective fundraising program. Thanks for your support!
General information can be found at www.glscrip.com. To sign up for the program, please visit www.shopwithscrip.com and follow the directions as listed above in the picture
PrestoPay is an online payment option for participating in the Scrip program if you do not want to pay in person by cash or check. If you have an online Scrip account, or are thinking about getting one, you may be wondering how to pay. Not to worry; it’s easy to use, and easy to get started. You can pay for your scrip gift cards online with PrestoPay™, the convenient payment system available on ShopWithScrip.com.
When you use PrestoPay, your order payment is transferred securely via electronic debit. PrestoPay is not a credit card system; instead, it uses the same electronic payment transfer used by direct deposit systems.
All you have to do is log into your ShopWithScrip® account, click on the PrestoPay link in the left navigation column, and enter your checking account information. Complete the steps to verify your information, and you will receive a secure approval code to share with your scrip coordinator.
You will then be able to choose the PrestoPay option when you check out on ShopWithScrip.com, and have your payment securely transferred from your checking account right to our organization. A small $0.15 convenience fee will apply to each order.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been providing you with all the information you’ll need to know about our new Scrip program, to make it as successful as possible.
Our first order date will be the weekend of August 24/25 and pick-up will be the following weekend. For convenience, we have included the brands of the different cards as an insert in this week's bulletin. This will make it easier when placing an order next week. If you have any questions whatsoever about the program, please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected]!
We are also looking for a few volunteers to collect and pass out orders. The time commitment is only 15-20 minutes after Mass on a day of your choosing. If interested, please see Loretta Sovel or email[email protected].
